Laura García is an award-winning multimedia journalist and creative storyteller from México living and working in the UK since 2011.
She currently works at the BBC’s World Service, as a social media specialist focused on vertical video strategy and social media innovation.
Before that she was a video producer/presenter at BBC Mundo. She’s worked as a photographer, tv producer, production coordinator, politics reporter, disinformation researcher, and lecturer.
Laura is passionate about diversifying the media and making sure we empower young people to find their voice.
Laura also mentors with WINN Latam, Global Women in News at the BBC and the John Schofield Trust.

Laura García es una galardonada periodista
multimedia creativa que vive y trabaja en el
Reino Unido desde 2011.
Actualmente trabaja en el Servicio Mundial de
la BBC, como especialista en redes centrada
en la estrategia de vídeo vertical y la
innovación en redes.
Antes de eso, fue productora y presentadora
de video en BBC Mundo. Ha trabajado como
fotógrafa, productora de televisión,
coordinadora de producción, reportera
política, investigadora de desinformación y
conferencista.
A Laura le apasiona diversificar los medios y
asegurarse de empoderar a los jóvenes para
que encuentren su voz.
